Dr. Idris Salim Dokota, PhD, CBS

Dr. Idris Salim Dokota, PhD, CBS is the Principal Secretary and the Accounting Officer for the State Department for Cabinet Affairs. Dr. Dokota holds a Doctorate Degree in International Economics and a Master’s Degree in Economics; World Economy from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing-China. He holds a B Com degree in Accounting and Finance from Pwani University. He is a Trade Economist with years of experience in Consultancy and training both in Public and Private sectors. 

Previously, he was appointed principal secretary at the State Department for Arid and Semi-Arid Lands(ASALs) and Regional Development. Before that,he worked as a Planning Officer in the Planning and Strategy Department of the National Museums of Kenya(NMK).He engaged in policies and strategies formulation and implementation at NMK. He has experience in impact evaluation, research and modelling. His areas of interest include cultural goods trade policy and cultural economics.
